and suppliers to ensure Edison receives the highest value from its
$6 billion in annual spend. You will interact daily with internal
organizational units and external suppliers to capture the best
value through Edison's contracts for our ratepayers and
shareholders. Your interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving
skills will be utilized as you develop and execute procurement
sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and partner with business
clients to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. As a Senior
Specialist within Direct Services (Substation Construction &
Maintenance, Transmission, Major Projects Organization), you will
be responsible for the development and execution of sourcing
strategies and contract negotiations for Substation Construction &
Maintenance. Your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon

- Developing and executing procurement sourcing strategies,
issuing request for proposals, conducting bidder's conferences,
participating in job walks, evaluating proposals, negotiating,
awarding, and managing contracts, while ensuring compliance with
safety, quality, environmental, and schedule requirements
- Manage supplier performance through the development and
execution of scorecards and client/supplier business reviews
- Manage the competitive solicitation, supplier selection,
development of contracts, contract language, and associated terms
and conditions to ensure appropriate risk mitigation
- Facilitate the integration and cohesion of business
relationships among organizational units, team members, and
external suppliers
- Maintain consistent interaction with vendors and business
partners to ensure adherence to contracts
- Provide leadership, facilitation, collaboration, total cost
reduction and cost savings while meeting Supplier Diversity
goals
- Perform analysis supporting the resolution of risk issues and
gap identification
- Develop, implement, and execute change management
strategies
- Responsible for understanding, interpreting, and applying
business tools (financial, commercial, risk, and cost analysis) to
attain desired results
- Accountable for maintaining procurement sourcing schedules
- Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following
Edison safety protocols and safe work practices; and perform other
responsibilities and duties as assigned Qualifications
The essentials
- Five (5) years of experience in purchasing, supply
chain/contract management or negotiating contracts
- Experience administering complex service or materials contracts
(fixed price lump sum, fixed units, time and equipment etc.) The
preferred
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Supply Chain
Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or
related field or an equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in
Supply Management (CPSM) Certified Professional Contracts Manager
(CPCM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Familiarity with software applications (e.g, MS Office suite:
Word, Excel, Power Point, Project) as well as Ariba and SAP
systems, modules, and platforms
- Working understanding of utility labor, material, and equipment
contract requirements and supply chain processes used to support
them contracts
- Ability to present recommendations and other communications
regularly to all levels of the organization
- Experience and knowledge of Supply Chain processes, purchasing
practices, policies
- Experience and knowledge of procurement contracts, agreements,
and terms and conditions
- Ability to execute projects to completion on an independent
basis
- Ability to work effectively on cross functional teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral
presentations, formal correspondence and contractual documentation,
group facilitation, and negotiations
- Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the
business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and
productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute
business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service
to internal and external customers
- Effective resource and project planning, decision making,
results driven, team building, and the ability to stay current with
relevant technology and innovations
- Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership,
interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively
manage stress and engage in continuous learning You should know
- This position's work mode is hybrid.The employee will report to
an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work
remotely on the remaining days.Unless otherwise noted, employees

- 10% local travel may be required as part of this position
