The Civil Project Engineer 3will work in the Civil Engineering group within SCE's Transmission and Distribution/Design Engineer organization. The focus for this position will be working on Caltrans Design Standard Decision Documents (DSDD) related to SCE's infrastructure (poles, towers, guy wires, etc.) that are frequently located in Caltrans right-of-way. There may also be work related to supporting other SCE organizations by providing subject matter expert input as a traffic engineer. Other duties involved may include civil engineering/site development design for substation facilities, transmission facilities, and other SCE properties. The Civil Project Engineer 3 will help reduce carbon emissions, create cleaner air, as well as ensure a reliable T&D system. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?   • Developing, reviewing, submitting, and obtaining approval of Caltrans Design Standard Decision Documents (DSDD's)
  • Creating purchase orders and overseeing engineering consultants to support workload demand
  • Coordinating with SCE planners, engineering consultants, and Caltrans
  • Training SCE planners on DSDD requirements
  • Creating status reports for senior management on DSDD efforts company wide
  • Identifying areas for improved efficiency
  • Supporting other SCE civil engineering functions including site development, grading, drainage, paving, retaining walls, roadways, and similar design engineering work Qualifications
    The essentials
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
    • Five years of civil engineering experience
    • Experience obtaining permits for civil engineering projects The preferred
      • California Professional Civil Engineers License (P.E.)
      • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or similar
      • Experience preparing Caltrans (DSDD), experience on Caltrans projects, or experience on traffic related projects
      • Experience in traffic engineering You Should Know---
        • Work Mode : This position's work mode ishybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
