help us build a clean energy future? As a Distribution Engineer 2
in Grid Policy & Strategy you will be part of a team that helps
modernize electric system planning and integrate DERs into system
planning processes. We work on the front lines with policy makers
and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to
influence how California electric utilities will transform the grid
to integrate DERs and to combat the increasing hazards of climate

- Support the implementation of CPUC requirements from
Distribution Resources Plan (DRP) Proceedings
- Coordinate transfer of results from SCE's annual system
planning processes into SCE's Grid Needs Assessment (GNA) and
Distribution Deferral Opportunity Report (DDOR) publications
- Liaison with SCE's DRP External Portal Team to ensure GNA/DDOR
data transfer and posting on SCE's online maps is accurate and on
time
- Coordinate with an Independent Professional Engineer (IPE) who
reports to the CPUC directly to review underlying data and outputs
of SCE's annual system planning processes
- Present GNA/DDOR summary data at external stakeholder forums
such as CPUC sponsored workshops
- Support thedevelopment of regulatory products such as advice
letters, comments, data request responses and motions where
appropriate
- Educate non-technical internal SCE stakeholders on ISP's
planning processes, capabilities and challenges Qualifications
The essentials
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
- Two (2) or more years of engineering experience The preferred
- Articulate technical topics in general terms to a non-technical
audience
- Electric system planning, equipment and operations
experience
- Electric grid data experience, both recorded and real time
- Coordinateand facilitateinput across a diverse set of
stakeholders
- Experience drafting regulatory positions and technical reports
You should know ---
- Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined,
this position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an
SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work
remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees
are required to reside in the state of California. Further details
of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
