Henkels & McCoy, Inc., one of the largest held international utility contracting firms with a reputation as one of the most reliable, innovative firms in engineering and construction is looking for a talented individual for the role of Regional Fleet Manager (REM).Primary FunctionTo manage the Regional Fleet for maximum productivity for both the short and long term, in a cost-effective manner.ScopeThe role for the REM is multifaceted. The REM is responsible for the Region's profit and loss (utilization % / $) on equipment, supervision of equipment personnel, allocating equipment, supervision of equipment personnel, allocating equipment and personnel resources for the Region, implementing and enforcing Regional and Corporate policies and procedures, following the directives of the Regional Vice President, supporting operations, working in conjunction with Corporate Fleet Personnel, ensuring a safe working environment, and maintaining the Region's equipment.QualificationsTo successfully perform the assigned duties a REM should have the following education, experience, and skills:* High School Diploma* College experience, business concentration preferred* Five years direct experience or seven years related experience* Strong communication skills - both oral and written* Working knowledge of the design and operation of construction, utility, and transportation equipment* Interpersonal relationship skills in: Supervision, motivation, learning and coaching areas* Strong background in computers and information technology* Membership in a professional industry organization such as NAFA, AEMP, or SAE helpfulJob Responsibilities* Field Support* Ensure that the size and composition of the fleet meets the needs of the users in the various lines of work* Arrange, in conjunction with Corporate Fleet, for the acquisition and disposal of equipment required by the Region, including rental units and temporary loaner equipment from other Regions* Equipment Inventory - Budget - Acquisitions* Perform equipment inventory annually as directed by the HMSS Fleet Department* Develop an equipment budget for replacements, deletions, and additions* Replacements should be selected based on operating cost, age, and condition* Deletions and additions should be consistent with and based on the operating unit fiscal year business forecast* Replacements and deletions must be identified by number* All procurement needs are to be directed through the Corporate Fleet Department via an equipment request* The HMG Corporation and HMSS have the sole authorities to purchase equipment on behalf of the operating business units* Utilization* Monitor equipment usage via reports and work site inspections* Identify best option to fill equipment needs rent or owned equipment* Utilize National Rental Accounts* Remove excess equipment from fleet for reassignment or disposal* Cost Control and Management* Monitor and review equipment P/L reports* Identify processes best suited to be performed internally, or by service provider* Help resolve cost issues on equipment* Make repair decisions according to Corporate policy Review manufacturer's recalls with local equipment supervisors and ensure proper actions are taken* Conduct, as required, accident investigations and assist in the resolution of issues arising from such incidents* Identify vehicle abuse and conduct / distribute "Lessons Learned" where applicable * Oversee maintenance operations in a cost-effective manner* Work with Operations Fleet Manager to determine best options for units, repair or replacement* Generate equipment evaluation reports on maintenance practices for each area* Manage part inventories* Manage Service Providers* Utilize Repair and Maintenance National Accounts* Train equipment and support personnel* JDE, DWR Share Point programs* DOT and Safety Compliance Seminars* Evaluate and recommend mechanic training programs* Mechanic training on specialized equipment* Mechanic training on new products* Report analysis and interpretation* Equipment utilization and rate analysis* Fleet management training* Equipment accounting* Update and maintain Fleet Manual* ZONAR and other GPS devices* Ensure Compliance with Federal and State requirements* DOT regulations* State Inspections* IFTA reporting (Trip Sheets)* Vehicle registrations* Asset Records* HazMat training requirements and records compliance* Monitor and enforce Regional and Corporate Programs and Policies* Proper use of the fueling cards* Fuel process and accurate equipment / job allocations* Scheduled Maintenance (PM Program)* Safety Inspections* Corporate Goals* Type I and II driver assignments* Aerial device inspections* Other duties which may be assigned to support Fleet management & operations* Logistics - receiving, inventory, shipping of equipment & tooling* Yards & Shops - organization, housekeeping, security* Facilities - evaluations of equipment locations, including environmental assessments if required* Special projects including participation with audits, investigation, safety / incident review, and impact / process improvement / "Lean" teamsOur company is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities
