Summary The Director of Research and Advancement Analytics reports
to the Sr. Director of Advancement Information Services ( AIS ) and
works within University Advancement (UA). The candidate is expected
to collaborate with members of the UA team, which includes UA's
leadership, Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Foundations,
Stewardship, and Advancement Information Services. S/he provides
leadership and sets strategic direction for prospect
identification, qualification and rating; prospect development,
management and tracking; prospect strategy development and
development research in support of the University's fundraising

S/he employs rigorous data organization and analysis techniques to
develop solutions for the challenges facing development and
constituent relations professionals at Western University of Health
Sciences (WesternU). S/he will work closely with AIS to provide
daily, weekly, monthly, and annual development reports, including
but not limited to fundraising, campaign, action, opportunity, and
ad hoc reports. University Advancement's mission is to cultivate
relationships that engender philanthropic support of Western
University of Health Sciences. The Director of Research and
Advancement Analytics plays a key role in meeting our mission.
Essential Job Duties:
The Director of Research and Advancement Analytics is responsible
for strategically building a collaborative and centralized prospect
management system while simultaneously providing research,
analytics, and fundraising reporting services in support of
reaching WesternU's fundraising goals. The director works closely
with fundraising staff and other stakeholders to develop strategies
encouraging proactive research and prospect management efforts to
ensure WesternU is building a broad-based principal, major and
annual gifts pipeline using new technologies and existing
resources. This includes proactively identifying prospects,
developing relationship-based prospect research, strategic planning
and reporting, and creating, implementing, and managing policies
and procedures related to prospect management and research.
Additionally, s/he will serve as the primary data analyst for
University Advancement and will supply all dashboard reporting on a
scheduled and on-demand basis. S/he will supervise the Prospect
Research Associate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Individuals

and the critical role of prospect research at each stage.

Qualifications 1. Education: Bachelor's degree and/or its
equivalent required. Advanced degree highly desired.
2. Experience: Five years of management experience in an academic
or non-profit environment in the areas of prospect research,
database management, and analytics required. Experience with Wealth
Screenings using ResearchPoint, DonorSearch, or other wealth
screening tools. Experience with a Customer Relationship Management
system utilizing data and analytics to drive fundraising success.
Raiser's Edge experience or other fundraising software. Experience
managing staff. Familiarity with the demands of Prospect Research
and reporting during a capital campaign. Preferred Qualifications
Supervisor experience - This position will supervise the Prospect
Research Associate. List comments regarding work hours This is a
full-time, exempt-level position. The regular hours are Monday -

1. Conduct extensive financial and biographical research on
prospects by identifying and analyzing wealth indicators, such as
real estate holdings, equity holdings, compensation, family
foundation assets, and philanthropy. Compose detailed research
materials, such as profiles, on prospects for members of the
University's leadership and development officers.
2. Proactively identify new prospects for research using database
query, screening, input from development officers and other
methods. Organize completed research by priority, area, and
assigned solicitor, and set meetings for review with University
Advancement's (UA) leadership and relevant development officer.
3. In collaboration with UA leadership and the development
officers, plan strategy, analyze, and help refine portfolios.
