  • Oversee the identification, understanding, and research of key emerging wildfire mitigation technologies and assess their potential to reduce business risks, increase operational effectiveness, and meet key strategic goals and metrics
  • Strategic oversight of the Wildfire Stage Gate process which seeks to capture, evaluate, and document all WMP (Wildfire Mitigation Plan) activities using a risk-informed decision methodology
  • Communicate and present to leadership across the company on pertinent wildfire mitigation activities
  • Provide thought leadership for operations-focused initiatives that will improve SCEs response to mitigating wildfire risk such as High Fire Risk Area (HFRA) boundaries analysis, new technology adoption, and enhancements to existing protection settings
  • Coordinate the optimization of wildfire technology portfolio when new strategies are developed
  • Interact with senior leadership across different organizational units to solicit new ideas and incorporate feedback into long term strategy
  • Develop, coach, and mentor the subject matter experts in their own personal developmentQualificationsThe essentials
    • Five or more years of experience managing an organization unit/team
    • Experience leading a team that conducts testing, analyzes issues, and develops solutions to engineering challengesThe preferred
      • Bachelors degree in Engineering or STEM related
      • Experience with Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) or General Rate Case (GRC) processes
      • Experience leading research, development, and demonstration of emerging technologies, systems and equipment
      • Experience developing multi-year plans, schedules, and technical roadmaps
      • Understanding of electric utility engineering or construction standards/practices
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, PowerPointYou should know ...
        • Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this positions work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
