Engineering Manager 1 at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build
a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be leading 8 employees
within the Scenario Planning Team under Distribution System
Analysis within SCE's Asset Strategy and Planning (ASP)
organization. As the leader of the Scenario Planning group, you
will be responsible for enabling planning capabilities that
consider needs and mitigation driven by climate change impacts,
decarbonization policies, and other trends. As a Scenario Planning
Engineering Manager 1, you will be responsible for system analysis
that will help test and answer future unknowns such as
implementation of the Integrated Planning Process (IPP) and its
incorporation into SCE's transmission and distribution planning
processes. You will help SCE prepare the system for increased
electrification while maintaining affordability for our customers.
In addition, you will identify opportunities for improvements and
modernization of system planning processes, methodologies, and tool
development. Your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon

- Lead the development and execution of an Integrated Planning
Process
- Utilize lessons learned from the Integrated Planning Process
Pilot and Transportation Electrification Grid Readiness (TEGR) to
identify new or revised requirements for software solutions
- Oversee the technical system analysis (e.g., power flow, short
circuit duty) and identify investments needed to prepare the grid
for various forecast scenarios
- Lead the transition from power flow analysis based on a single
point in time to time-series analysis
- Support, and in some cases lead elements of SCE's Grid Strategy
workstreams, including location identification, forecasting,
analysis, and solution optimization
- Lead grid assessments to support inclusion of Reimagining the
Grid (RTG)/Pathway 2045 white papers and necessary investments in
the General Rate Case (GRC)
- Collaborate with the Subtransmission and Transmission technical
grid assessments to inform policy advocacy around Transmission,
Subtransmission, Distribution, and resource needs, including
scenarios and potential for proactive build
- Collaborate with Strategy, Forecasting, and other stakeholders
within the company to achieve common goals and objectives
- Lead grid assessments supporting regulatory proceedings (e.g.,
Climate Adaptation and Vulnerability Assessments (CAVA),
Distribution Resource Plan 2.0/HIGH Distribution Energy Resources
Order Instituting Rulemaking, Pathway 2045)
- Support regulatory proceedings by drafting testimony and
responding to data requests
- Lead by example, maintain a safety conscious work environment
by following Edison's safety protocols and safe work practices in
addition to providing support with all other duties assigned

values Qualifications
The essentials
- Five or more years of combined experience
performing/managing/supervising in an Engineering related capacity
within Electric Utility Distribution system planning and/or
Transmission system planning. The preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
discipline.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related
discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience with power system engineering analysis (e.g., power
flow, short-circuit duty), including knowledge of applicable
regulations, standards, codes, and analysis software such as CYME,
PSLF, PowerWorld, CAPE
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the
ability to explain complex technical concepts and deliver technical
presentations to both a technical and non-technical audience,
including external settings
- Work effectively in areas where processes are not clearly
defined, self-starter
- Influence others and maintain positive working
relationships
- Stay current with relevant technology and innovation
- Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks
appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage
information, and provide extraordinary service to internal clients
and external customers.

- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report
to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work
remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees
are required to reside in the state of California. Further details
