Another Source's client,Cal Poly Pomona, is recruiting a Risk
Manager to join their team in Pomona, CA. This is an on-site
opportunity on a scenic campus to build a risk program from the
ground up that serves students in their pursuit of education. About

Annual Salary Range: $110,000 - 120,000, commensurate with

Management Office is charged with protecting both the human
(faculty, staff, students, and guests) and the physical assets of
the university. Under the general direction of the Director of
Parking, Transportation & Administrative Services the Risk Manager
is responsible for actively executing established risk management
programs and strategies aimed at creating a well-rounded and
proactive culture of risk assessment, management and prevention;
recommends developments, implementations and procedures that
minimize university risk; and ensures compliance with CSU Executive
Orders and university policies that relate to insurance and risk
management. How You Will Spend Your Time: 40% Risk and Insurance
Programs and Claims Against the University 30% Risk Assessment and
Risk Transfer 10% Foreign Travel 10% State Vehicle Inventory,
Vehicle Claims & Property Damage Claims 10% Vehicle and Driving
Programs Essential Functions: Must have interpersonal and
relationship building skills to cultivate and maintain harmonious
working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community
or public entities. Must uphold a high level of judgement and
discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues and
information. Must have the ability to manage a complex operation,
tied to various legal and insurance processes. Ability to supervise
and motivate unionized staff. Ability to drive state vehicles on a
daily basis to perform routine university business, events and
trainings. Ability to make effective decisions and sound judgements
in a fast-paced environment, maintain composure under pressure and
during emergencies. The ability to interpret and apply campus, CSU
and state policies and procedures along with local, state and
federal laws. The ability to create and use statistical data and
reports in data informed decision making. The ability to retain and
recall information and respond to in-person, telephone, and
electronic inquiries. The ability to read and write at a college
entry level. Prioritizes and aligns the work of the department with
the goals and priorities of the University. Must be proficient with
database recordkeeping and reporting. Must have the ability to
speak to the campus community in a public setting regarding the
strategic initiatives relating to Risk Management Services. In
depth knowledge of risk management and insurance Ability to operate
a computer and respond in person, telephone & electronic inquiries
Valid California Driver's license and insurance; ability to operate
a motor vehicle for the purpose of driving to off- campus,
work-related activities such as hearings and workshops Minimum
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with coursework in business
administration, public administration, risk management or a closely
related field. Valid California driver's license, insurance and a
good driving record. At least five (5) years of progressively
responsible professional work experience in risk management or a
closely related field. Experience providing high levels of customer
satisfaction, supervising staff, developing strategic plans,
managing budgets and resources, and encouraging individual/team
innovation and continuously improving existing services. Experience
with risk management, programming, and implementation; familiarity
or experience working with risk agencies, technology partners,
other educational institutions, and local governments; and
familiarity or experience working with risk management in a higher
education environment. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in
public administration, business administration, planning, higher
education or similar is preferred. Experience with risk management,
design implementation of campus programs and educational systems.
