Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and
Delivery RN with a current CA RN license, BLS, AWHONN Advanced, and
NRP Advanced certifications for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities - Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute
care hospital - Level II Trauma Center and Magnet-designated,
teaching hospital setting - Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2 - Caring
for patients with birth volumes ranging from under 100 to over 300
births - Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to
07:00 - Weekend requirement includes working two weekends in every
six-week period, including possible Friday nights - No on-call
responsibilities - No floating required within the facility - Uses
Cerner EMR system - Experience covering a wide range of birth
volumes is necessary - First-time travelers are welcome to apply -
Candidates may only request time off for one holiday, but should
expect to work holidays - No specific scrub color required, but
camouflage or character patterns are not permitted - Free parking
available on site - Local candidates are accepted for this position
Requirements - Active CA RN license required at time of application
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience -
Current BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (all 11 components), and
Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certifications required - Ability
and experience performing vaginal exams and providing newborn care
