Manager Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive
attitude towards company
- Recruit, interview, test, and assist in selecting candidates to
fill vacant positions.
- Maintain records of personnel files, personnel transactions,
such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews,
terminations, and employee statistics for government
reporting.
- Assist in the termination process, to include manager and
employee discussions, performing exit interviews, completing
necessary documentation, and analyzing termination data.
- Prepare advanced reports (ie. OT reports, labor costs,
headcount) using Excel.
- Create and send reminders and communications to employees on
various HR matters;
- Oversight of benefit programs, conduct audits to ensure
compliance and accuracy, and manage renewals and open
enrollment.
- I-9 compliance.
- Manage FMLA and other leave programs including but not limited
to short-term disability and long-term disability.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client, company, and
personnel information.
- Administer the workers' compensation program include claims,
report generation, and communication with employees, managers,
insurance carriers.
- Respond to all inquiries regarding any HR policies, procedures
and/or programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical, legal and
managerial tools that have impact on HR initiatives.
- Serves as a resource person for questions regarding labor, and
human resource issues, such as but not limited to: EEO, ADA, FMLA,
FLSA.
- Update employee handbook and policies in compliance with
applicable labor laws.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations
concerning employment and posting requirements.
- Supervise payroll and be back-up to payroll.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.Required
Qualifications
- Excellent human relations skills required
- Bachelor's Degree from US university and PHR Certification
required OR Master's in Human Resources.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a must.
- 8 years experience as a personnel generalist in all major areas
of human resources. Must be able to work independently and with
minimal supervision keep company in compliance with all California
labor laws, workers compensation and other HR matters.
- Be able to step in as payroll back-up (payroll processing)
- Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Outlook,
Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions in one-on-one group situations to managers and employees
of the organization.
- Disciplined self-starter with strong work ethics.
- Good analytical skills and ability to interpret company
policies, procedures and agreements.
