Buyer/Planner will develop production supply plans that consider
forecasts, material availability and manufacturing capacity for
global demand. Production scheduling across multiple manufacturing
facilities in a high intricacy environment. This individual will
orchestrate the implementation of short and long-term material
management strategies required to achieve the key company goals
related to inventory turns, customer service and operating
profit.Essential job Responsibilities:
- Releases, places, and manages production work orders in
accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals and
related planning data.
- Works closely with manufacturing and suppliers to prioritize,
expedite and de-expedite purchase orders based on material
availability, department resources, changing requirements and
customer service requirements.
- Manages the assigned product lines including the management of
inventory turns improvement, backorder reduction and coordinating
activities with multiple materials departments.
- Supports new product development and launch to market
strategies as an extension of the core team.
- Follow up on actual vs scheduled production with manufacturing
departments.
- Manage, monitor, and update Kanban for assigned product lines
and production cells.
- Implementation of successful continuous improvement through
Lean Leadership (Daily management, Standard work, and Gemba
walks).
- Lead Kanban implementation, including calculation of the bin
quantity, size, and coordinating supplier requirements and daily
management requirements.
- Develop and facilitate proposals, to support organizing and
conducting pertinent, concise, data driven, professional
presentations to leadership with recommendations.
- Strong working knowledge and apply the principles of
planning/pull system, MRP horizontal plan, AMU (average monthly
usage) and projected balance calculations.
- Understand lean manufacturing and JIT principles including EBS
tools and how to apply them in the appropriate situation.
- Develop short- and long-term unit and dollar inventory
projections at the raw, sub-assembly, WIP and finished good
levels.
- Support special projects related to material planning,
purchasing, system changes and inventory management.
- Perform critical analysis of material requirements from
Engineering drawings and documents in releases or pre-released
status.
- Drive cost savings and quality improvements.
- Broad expertise in multiple supply chain disciplines
- Occasional travel 15%Job Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related work experience or
Master's degree in Field with 0-2 years of related work
experience
- Experienced with Material Resource Planning (MRP); Oracle
experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook,
Word, etc.)
- Ability to facilitate group meetings
- Thorough understanding of production scheduling, capacity
planning and forecasting principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work
cross functionally with various departments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience with ISO, GMP, SOP's, JIT, MRP
- Problem solving and solid business decision making skills
- Ability to work in an office environmentPreferred
