Job Description

Coordinate and administer all internal HHW activities applicable to Federal, State, and local regulations and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures. Administer, maintain & track local safety & Health training for local employees to keep up to date with required trainings.

  • Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program Administration: Creating orders, profiling, communicating with Sales and Operations, general customer service responsibilities.
  • Conducts Safety Meetings to ensure that all plant employees comply with all job safe operating procedures. Communicate directly with those employees deficient in training to bring up to 100%. Periodically audit proper use of personal protective equipment by plant personnel.
  • Facilitates and or conducts compliance inspections in the plant, and implements corrective actions based on results of compliance inspections.
  • Acts as daily point of contact with HHW customers.
  • May move trucks in the plant.
  • Provides safety training reports to management.
  • Inspects work area for proper storage, labeling, leakage, and equipment or material deficiencies, and correct any deficiencies.
  • Reports and responds to plant emergencies as needed in accordance with the Contingency Plan.
  • Regular contact with clients regarding questions/issues regarding their account.
  • Regularly coordinates responsibilities with multiple internal departments including, but not limited to: Sales, Operations, Transportation and Accounting.
  • In this role, you'll work in office, plant, and outdoors environments. You must be willing and able to wear company-provided personal protection equipment that may include eye protection, Tyvek coveralls, protective footwear, and respirator.
    Required Qualifications

    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Two or more years' experience in the hazardous waste industry.
    • Two or more years' experience with hazardous waste segregation.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • CDL Class A, B, or C
      • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified.
      • Demonstrate competency in DOT, RCRA and OSHA regulations.
      • Knowledge of hazard classes, chemical compatibilities, and segregation.
      • Familiar with DOT shipping, packaging, and labeling requirements for hazardous waste.
      • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and communication skills
      • Ability to read and interpret signs, labels, waste documents, manifests, procedures, and regulations
