Job descriptionWe are looking for an Assistant Project Manager for a client in southern California Typical Responsibilities : Act as key resource to project team, department and division management, customers, and/or client organizations to ensure project goals are met in a timely and cost effective manner Facilitate and drive consensus in key decision-making discussions Provide independent analysis, consistent communication and follow-up with relevant stakeholders to drive the completion of actions and resolve concerns Coordinate the development and execution of critical deliverables, presentations and document review processes (i.e. bids, RFPs, regulatory documents and external permitting documents when applicable) Build and maintain positive relationships with management, project teams and stakeholders to ensure the project meets schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance requirements Track and provide oversight of document management, change management, action and decision logs, risk logs and governance materials in accordance with company policies and procedures. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Five (5) or more years combined experience: in a managerial role or an analytical role - construction project management or directly related applying project management methodologies, and/or performing project management support activities (i.e. investigating and resolving problems, coordinating and communicating key project decisions and deliverables) Three or more years of intermediate to advanced level experience using Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.) Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction/contract management, other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Project Management Certificate Ability to lead and proactively manage time constraints, prioritize work, and resolve project related concerns. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization. Experience working across multiple disciplines, interdepartmental teams and engaging with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders. Experience working in a utility or contractor environment supporting the development and/or execution of major transmission or distribution projects, large capital projects, or Third Party interconnection projects. Experience with applications such as SharePoint.
