In this job, you'll support Major Projects Organization (MPO) by leading complex major transmission and substation projects (anywhere in the service territory) including all aspects of scope, cost, and schedule. You will be responsible for leading large multi-disciplined project teams in the development and execution of major projects in managing throughout the project lifecycle(development, licensing, engineering and design, pre-construction planning, procurement, execution, commissioning and closeout). In addition, you will establish roles and responsibilities for the project team, and integrate project controls, resource coordination, scheduling, and subject matter experts from the various supporting organizations, while ensuring compliance with the applicable controls, regulatory requirements and procedures. These projects are generally high visibility, critical to operation of the SCE grid and vital to maintaining system reliability.     • Lead the development and execution of large complex projects with potentially significant financial risks, customer risks, brand risks and/or significant regulatory complexity, including scope development, siting, licensing, permitting, project execution strategy, procurement, engineering, construction, testing, and closeout.
    • Independently lead cross functional teams in various business units in addition to contractors
    • Work closely with outside regulators and regulatory consultants in licensing and/or execution of these projects
      • Lead scope development and management, cost estimate and budget development, cost management and project schedule development and management:
      • Lead the project decision process
      • Lead the project change control process
      • Lead project risk management process
      • Establishing and implementing project metrics and reporting
      • Independent communication with internal and external stakeholders, as well as management and SCE executives
      • Act as MPO key consultant to SCE management
      • Work in developing or refining MPO work processes
      • Represent SCE at open houses, industry tradeshows and forums, conferences, regulatory proceedings, and working groups (travel required)
      • Work in development of SCE's Project strategic plan and business case.
      • Determine long term project management objectives for successful licensing and/or execution of infrastructure projects
      • Provide leadership to SCE and supplemental resources for the implementation of MPO projects
      • Development and management of large contracts Qualifications
        The essentials
        • Ten or more years of project management experience.
        • Experience working with environmental agencies in permitting infrastructure projects.
        • Experience structuring, negotiating and managing contracts. The preferred
          • Seven years' experience in Transmission and Distribution
          • Five years' experience structuring, negotiating and managing contracts greater than $1 million dollars for infrastructure projects.
          • Five years' experience managing projects with a portfolio value greater than $25 million dollars.
          • Five years' experience in project cost and schedule management.
          • Five years' experience in California permitting, including CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) and NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) permitting
          • Master's degree in Engineering or MBA
          • Technical experience of electric distribution and transmission systems
          • Experience in project risk analysis and management
          • Project Management degree or Certificate
          • Experience with schedule development and management, and experience working with Primavera

            • Work Mode:When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position's work mode ishybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

            • Position will require -30% traveling, including overnights, and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
            • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties. Testing
